We often need to remove a ball nut from ball screw, maybe it’s because the direction of nut isn’t right, or the previous nut is broken.
How can I do it to remove a ball nut? Just take it off without any method? As soon as you took off the nut, the balls would drop out immediately and the ball nut was spoiled.
The only way to make sure you did a good thing is to use a pipe, which is always shipped together if your supplier is responsible enough.
First, Put the pipe on an end of ball screw.
Second, Rotating the nut until it is completely on the pipe. Make sure there is no room between the pipe and nut, so the balls wouldn’t drop down.
Third, Hold the ball nut up on the pipe, and finished.
Now that you removed ball nut successfully from ball screw, how to install it on a correct ball screw?
Let’s do the above steps reverse.
First, Cut off the ties between the pipe and the ball nut. Put the pipe on ball screw.
Second, Rotating the nut until it is completely on the ball screw. Don’t move the pipe until the ball nut is completely on ball screw.
Third, Completed. Save the pipe, in case you need it next time.
An important tip you must remember: there isn’t a holder between ball nut and bearing balls, so make sure the balls wouldn’t leave the pipe or the ball screw.
